и

Be cautious when responding to e-mails or phone calls from the 809, 284 or 876 area codes.

 

Все эти коды сами по себе совершенно нормальные, на них сидит без счёта обычных абонентов, но ими злоупотребляют. То есть надо думать, прежде чем туда звонить, но это не значит, что туда звонить нельзя.

 

ЗЫ. По-моему, сугубейше американская наколка. Европе (если голову на плечах иметь) не грозит.

Но мне кажется, что вряд ли европейских русскоязычных будут разводить на звонок якобы в США. Это чисто американский слово-паразит — звонить, судя по виду кода, куда-то в своей стране, а на самом деле в совсем другую страну и по совсем другим тарифам.

Нинада! До недавнего времени чехов - любителей секусу по телефону - тоже разводили на номера типа 908, зарегистрированные где-то на Каймановых осторвах...
